What magazine subscriptions would be good gifts for kids?

Posted by admin
cz73 asked:

I was thinking National Geographic Little Kids for two households, one has 2 little girls 3 & 5, the other a 2 yr old boy & 4 yr old girl.

For an 11 yr old boy, Nickelodeon magazine.

Any other suggestions?
I liked highlights too, but I remember reading it around the ages 6-10, which is out of the other kids age range. That would be something I’d do in the next few years

I used to love Highlights and when my DD is older I’m going to get that for her.

Highlights is also a good magazine for those ages; I used to get it when I was a kid and I loved it. All kinds of neat content. Also I think Disney may have a mag for younger ones (2, 3 & 4 year old) that is educational and fun on their level.

I agree with the first poster — I LOVED Highlights when I was a kid and it’s really a unisex mag, to boot.

My kids get “Preschool playhouse” for the younger ones (1-4). The we get “Disney Princess” for 4-6, and Kids National Geographic for 7-10. Hope that helps some. Preschool playhouse is just adorable. The disney princess one has lots of games and make over tips.

Those two are great! There’s also a magazine called “Highlights” (url below). The second url is all kinds of award-winning learning magazines for kids.

Very creative gift idea! I might have to steal it from you ^-^

I had Highlights when I was little, but my favorite was ZooBooks. I had a huge binder of all the animals in the series.

I bought one of my nieces (7 years old) National Geographic for kids the last two years and she loves it. Other good ones are Owl, Chickadee, Sports Illustrated for Kids. Chirp is good for the 2-year old.

I am thinking about getting one of these for my 3 year old son. I think it comes with a free gift too. It was recommended to me by a friend she said her daughter loved it. You may want to look a little more into it, but it is an idea.

Ladybug you can upgrade the subscription as they get older to more mature material. That company makes lot of good kid magizines.
    or Zoobooks
