What are some cheap, but meaningful, Christmas gifts for kids?

I’m trying to find Christmas gifts for some kids I work with at my church and babysit. Between all of them, I’ll have to buy around 25 gifts. I need something cheap, but I don’t want to get something they’ll never use or will throw away. :) Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hula hoops, saucer sleds, balls, frisbees, jump ropes, Slinkys, coloring books and crayons, velvet coloring posters, kites, blocks, DVD movies (often on sale at Wal-Mart), stuffed animals, craft kits, checkers, playing cards…

Go on cbd.com. They always have nice kids books and Bibles for very cheap. I bought the six kids that I watch three boardbooks and a counting hand puppet each, and only spent 50 dollars.

Homemade baked goods are always a favorite. You usually can’t go wrong with yummy food around the holidays. Maybe a special Christmas tree ornament of each of them, that they can call their own and put on their family tree? Best of luck!
